VINTAGE 1946 WESTFIELD BICYCLE COMPAX SPORTS TRAVELER FOLDING BICYCLE. SKIP TOOTH. Serial Number K123287 Pre Owned. Color: Blue. A faded Blue great patina. The bike has blemishes as expected from a unrestored 75 year old bicycle. The seat is worn but still intact. Original components are as follows: Frame, Forks, Seat, Folding Handle Bars, Seat Post, Handle Bar Grips, Goose Neck, Pedals, Skip Tooth Sprocket, Crank, and Skip Tooth Chain. Single Speed, New Departure Model D Rear Coaster Brake Hub. Found the correct front and rear 26” Drop Center wheels with correct hubs. The Drop Center wheels where in bad shape and had wheels straightened out and re chromed, with new spokes. I located the correct era Chain Guard, Front and Rear Fenders, and Rear Reflector. The Kick Stand and Brake Adjustment Screws are correct style replacement. New Tires and Tubes. The FRONT BASKET IS NOT INCLUDED AND IS FOR ILLUSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY. The bike can be ridden and pedals very smooth as intended. The bike has been in my collection for years and on display only. Westfield eventually sold to Columbia sometime in the mid 1940’s. Americas First Folding Bicycle. The Compax Paratrooper was the Military version and used during WW2 by all Allied Forces. Included with bike is a large collection of historical data pertaining to both the Compax Paratrooper and Compax Sports Traveler. Please review pictures for description and condition.
