Description
Here is a rare original August 1975 SCHWINN Stingray "Fair Lady" 20" BICYCLE! (HL Serial Number) This bike is from the era when most everything was cool! (the HEMICUDA, Mach 1 Mustang, and Camaro Z-28 come to mind!) This bike has been in VERY long term storage and has not been owned by collectors!
*The bike is in the original and very appealing RADIANT RED factory painted color. The bike has cool wide apehanger handlebars, matching Schwinn hand grips, (open ends) cool rear sissy bar, Schwinn pedals, Schwinn single speed "mag" sprocket, chrome fenders, (Im guessing the rear was replaced) and so much more ! I dont know where you would find another like it! It is awesome! The original chainguard is in place! (has a fresh decal) The bike is an ORIGINAL 1-speed with coaster style brakes. The SUPER INTERESTING part is this one ALSO has HAND BRAKES! It has the factory frame to accommodate the brake calipers. The rear one is LARGE and looks like the style used on a Schwinn Krate bike! (see pics and be your own judge) The seat looks nice but is a slightly newer replacement. The bike has chrome Schwinn S7 rear wheel with a Bendix hub. The front wheel is a chrome non Schwinn. Both tires hold air. The rear is a Schwinn. The front is a newer replacement. I got this one basically just like you see it! (see pics and be your own judge of what is original)
*A fun bike to ride or display. A great way to revive some fun memories or even create new ones with a young person! I hope you love this one!
*SKIP the lame modern bikes made in china that are supposed to look like this and get a REAL DEAL original Chicago USA made Schwinn Stingray!
*Now is your chance to own one of the COOLEST bikes EVER MADE! Make someone in your life happy with this one. This is a cool bike that you can enjoy for years! It is money in the bank and will only go UP in value! You RARELY find these bikes anymore! They were all abused and thrown away back in the 1970s-80s. Finding one these days is a big challenge. If you check out Ebay, the selection on any 1960s Stingray bikes is very little. They are very cool and people enjoy owning, riding, and displaying them! Most people do not sell these bikes once they have them. Be the first to get this bike back out in the light and have fun with it! I believe this to be a fairly nice original unmolested bicycle unless otherwise noted.
*NOTED FLAWS I got this one just like you see it! This one has been in LONG term storage and cannot wait to be enjoyed once again! I LOVE the original paint! (has chips scratches etc but has survived better than many that you see! Happy it was never repainted!) The chrome is shiny but is not perfect show quality. Both wheels have a slight wobble when you spin them. (most every used bike out there seems to) The rear hub pedals forward and brakes engage but has a about 1/2 rotation before engaging. (probably from being off the road so long) Regrease it or use it like it is! If you click on any of the pics they get very large to show lots of detail.
Please take a look at all pics for exact condition and email with any questions before you bid.
*Sorry for the LONG description, these bikes really excite me. This awesome ride starts low with ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE so bid early and don't miss out! This will sell to the high bidder! Sorry, no buy it now is offered. People will ENVY you when you ride by at a car show or on the street with this bike! Sold as is because it is used. I try to list anything I notice with the bike. Keep in mind this is a vintage bike that has probably not been ridden for a while so it may need minor tuning, bearings greased, polishing, etc, These bikes are getting harder to find and are more popular than ever before! You will enjoy owning, riding, and displaying it for years! People always remember these bikes but seldom see them in person. Your new vintage bike will be shipped partially disassembled in a factory bike box. I take them in to have them packaged so they almost always arrive in the same condition as they left us. You may want to consider insurance, just in case. Once it has shipped, I cannot be responsible for lost or damaged items without insurance.
*SHIPPING TIME I ship bikes on Tuesdays and Fridays via Fed Ex. Generally, if I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Monday, it allows me enough time to get your bike to the shop for packing and to ship along with the Tuesday AM shipment. If I receive your payment by 1 pm central time on Thursday, it gives enough time to have it packed and ship Friday AM. If paid after that time, please expect it to go out with the next shipment.
*SHIPPING COSTS: Fed Ex, USPS, as well as UPS have recently raised their shipping rates due to the higher cost of fuel. Sorry for the slight increase in shipping costs.
*PLEASE NOTE, I WILL NO LONGER BE SHIPPING FULL SIZE BIKES OUTSIDE OF THE USA. This is due to the high cost of shipping and customs. If you are anywhere outside the lower 48 States including Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico contact me before you bid as shipping will cost more. Fed Ex just increased the rates. I can ship to AK, HI, or PR for approx .95. This is a 10+ day service and includes packing. This i the best deal I can get to ship to these locations.
Please do not bid if this is unacceptable.
I always try to keep things as reasonable as I can. If you have a friend or family member in the lower 48 states, I can ship to them for the amount stated in the listing. THANK YOU!
