Description

This houseplant potting mix is a soilless medium. It is especially good for African violets and related plants. Made of a mixture of hand sifted sphagnum peat moss, coarse perlite, vermiculite, horticultural charcoal, dolomite lime, and trace elements it is especially light and porous. It works very well in soak through type ceramic violet pots, and in Oyama Planters, and for plants grown by wick watering, or on capillary matting. It is easy for the plant’s root system to penetrate this mix. The contents of the 1 ½ quart bag will fill approximately six 3” pots, or four 4” pots. This mix is packaged dry to prolong its shelf life and you should moisten it with hot water before using it. Instructions are on the label. It can be used for traditional watering from the top of from the bottom, but because it is so porous you would need to water more often. It contains no fertilizer, and no wetting agent.
