    Description

What an awesome find!  This Chicago Schwinn Lil Tiger is in the hard to find color Violet made in 1968 - 1970 and appears to have been discontinued after 1970 according to catalogs I have found.
The banana seat is a replacement by what appears to be a Troxel but it is unmarked.  The sissy bar is from a newer Schwinn Lil Chik.
This cleaned up well with just a little elbow grease and could probably even be improved upon with some minor additional work.
I understand the date of manufacture is on the crank, but I haven't disassembled this to find it.  Again though, from what I know of these bikes the Lil Tiger came in violet only in 1968, 1969 and 1970.
Features of this 12" convertible bike designed for children 2 to 4 years old include a compact Sting-Ray design with chrome plated fenders, Schwinn 12" x 1 5/8" semi-pneumatic whitewall tires and a newer banana seat.
This would make a great display piece or a great Father's Day gift for the Schwinn Sting Ray enthusiast!
