The uppers on the RC Ultimate MTB Shoe combine lightweight, breathable microfiber and 3D airmesh with incredibly strong Carbitex carbon fiber fabric that holds you into place at a minimal weight penalty. Wrap Fit technology hugs your foot in with an extra layer of synthetic leather against your foot, conforming to you for a second-skin fit with minimal wiggle, while an adjustable footbed underneath lets you pick the perfect amount of support for your arch and instep, upping the comfort to the next level. With two IP-1 Boas, the uppers cinch down around your foot for a customization fit, and 1-millimeter micro-adjustments, enabling you to avoid uncomfortable pinches or loose spots.
Scott employs its stiffest possible outsole in the RC Ultimate MTB shoes with lightweight HMX carbon fiber and a Corecell foam core that sheds grams. This particular sole earns a whopping 10 out of 10 on Scott's stiffness index, so you can count on every watt of power you put down going into the pedals to push you to the podium, instead of wallowing away in flex. The outsole features EVA Sticki rubber lugs, offering tread for surefooted hiking when off the bike, while using exotic compounds to keep the weight at a minimum.
