    Description

This very rare tintype photograph measures 2" x 2 1/2", and comes in a beautiful metal case with glass.  It depicts a man who is possibly William Quantrill, the famous confederate guerilla and founder of Quantrill's Raiders.  Jesse James and his brother Frank James were members, and Quantrill was a major influence on several outlaws of the time
.  While there is no provenance for this photo and I cannot guarantee the identification, it is evident that the resemblance to the comparison photo is uncanny.  This item is sold as-is, and may have scratches, bends, soiling, discoloration, or other damage, so please take a close look at the photos.  Don't miss your chance to own this important part of Old West history!
