Vintage Peterbilt Truck Badge / Emblem
Very nice chrome and rich deep red color. I think the red part is glass or extremely hard resin, (if you know for certain, please feel free to advise me.)
This is an older truck emblem, the chrome is flush with the red and the red looks, feels and sounds like glass when you tap it with a coin.
There is a small spot inside the "P" and some slight spotting of the chrome below the "i" but everything is solid and tight. There are two tiny scrapes which break the gloss of the red surface. Study the pics please I did my best to show all the flaws in them.
The size is 8" x 3 3/8" and it weighs 9.6 ounces.
The 3/16" x 9/16" mounting pins are 6.25 inches on center.
The back of the emblem has a slight arc to it - about 1/8" bow in the center.
I can see no scratches on the mounting pins so I'm not sure this was ever mounted, on a truck, it seems the retainers would leave some kind of mark.
